Residents needed for new AANA podcast

Be part of AANA’s new podcast, for residents, by residents! AANA is seeking applicants for standing hosts (a first year, second year, and third year resident will be selected) plus a recent CRNA graduate advisor for its steering committee. AANA’s resident podcast series will be a twice-monthly production with 20-minute episodes. Each standing host will lead approximately 8 episodes over the course of a year and sit on a steering committee to select topics and publication schedule. Applications for interested residents are due October 10, 2024.

The AANA Board of Directors approved the newly updated Enhanced Recovery after Surgery, Considerations for Pathway Development and Implementation at Annual Congress. These practice considerations support the anesthesia professional and facilities in implementing and improving ERAS pathways across the continuum of care. Review this updated resource.

Thank You AANA Foundation Resident Advocates!

AANA Foundation’s Resident Advocates serve as the liaison between the Foundation and their nurse anesthesia program. Currently, residents from 46 programs are participating in the program. The program provides advocates opportunities for professional growth and development and serves as a mechanism to increase awareness about the Foundation and its mission to advance the science of anesthesia through education and research. 

Visit the Foundation’s Resident Advocate webpage to learn more about the program, review a list of current advocates, and submit an application if your program is in need of an advocate. The application deadline takes place twice a year in March and October. The next deadline date is October 31, 2024.  

Thank you to our past and current advocates! A special thank you to the 14 advocates that assisted the Foundation at the AANA 2025 Annual Congress in San Diego. Advocates volunteered at the Foundation Booth, State of the Science General and Top Abstract Presentations, fundraising events, and so much more!
